Day 4 of India vs Australia fourth and final Test at Brisbane came to an end. Things look poised for yet another final day thriller between India and Australia. India were 4-0 while chasing 328 runs in the final innings before rain stopped play at the Gabba.
This day's play would be remembered for some nasty fast-bowling by Indian pacers Mohd Siraj and Shardul Thakur. Both Shardul Thakur and Mohd Siraj were eyeing the final wicket to complete their maiden five-wicket haul in Test cricket. Eventually, Siraj won the battle as he picked up the last Australian wicket of Josh Hazlewood and ended up with record-breaking bowling figures of 5/73.

Although, Shardul Thakur was not too much behind either. The Mumbai pacer picked four wickets, which including the key dismissals of Marcus Harris and Cameron Green. Shardul ended up with sensational bowling figures of 4/61.
The last leg of Australia’s innings saw the two Indian pacers bowl in tandem for 10 overs straight. It almost felt like a race to a five-wicket haul. With both Thakur and Siraj at four wicket each, it was pleasing for Indian fans to see both young quickies being so competitive.
Although, it was all in good spirit and competition. As the innings ended and the players headed back to the dressing room, we saw Shardul Thakur applauding the performance and the maiden five-wicket haul by Mohd Siraj. This suggests that the team-spirit in the Indian team is quite high and all the players are looking at uplifting eachother’s performances.
Now, all eyes are on Indian openers and coach Ravi Shastri on how they would approach the final day's play at Brisbane. With 324more runs required on the fifth day on a pitch that looks very difficult to baton, it would be interesting to see how the things go in the first session of the last day’s play. Will India go for a win, only time will tell?
