Even before BCCI suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 due to Covid-19 cases inside IPL bio-bubble, Punjab Kings skipper KL Rahul had to miss a game due to his operation of Appendicitis as he was taken to hospital after he complained of severe abdomen pain.

The star middle-order batsman missed the IPL 14 match against Rishabh Pant-led Delhi Capitals, which also turned out to be his last match in this year's IPL before the cash-rich tournament was postponed indefinitely by the BCCI.

According to a report in IANS, KL Rahul will most likely travel with the Indian cricket team on June 2 for India vs England Test series and World Test Championship (WTC) Final against New Zealand. As per the report, Rahul  is on way to recovery.

"He is doing fine and has recovered well as far as I know. He should be travelling to England with the team," a source close to the player told IANS.

"There is still time, about a month before the start of the World Test Championship final against New Zealand and another one-and-a-half month before the start of five-Test series against England. The Indian team has done this before too, taken injured Wriddhiman Saha to Australia last year and made him do rehab with the team," added the source.

However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has not taken any final call in this matter and an official announcement whether KL Rahul and Wriddhiman Saha (availability subject to fitness clearance) will take part in India's tour of England, is yet to be made.
