Indian cricket team fast bowler Vinay Kumar has announced retirement from all formats of cricket.


The 37-year-old took to Twitter to announce his retirement via a letter dedicated to his fellow players and fans.


Reacting to Vinay Kumar's decision, former cricketer Irfan Pathan congratulated the former speedster for a brilliant career. Vinay Kumar has played with different teams in Indian Premier League. He has been part of teams like Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore in the T20- League.

Vinay Kumar tweeted by saying, "For me, cricket is not just a game, it's a way of living. It has taught me many things, the ups and downs, the successes and failures, the good days and the bad days - all of this has made me a better person," Vinay Kumar said in a statement. "I am very proud of all the experiences that I have had as a cricketer.



Vinay Kumar has played only one Test match for India in which he picked a wicket. In One-Day-Internationals, Kumar bagged 38 wickets. The speedster bagged a total of 10 wickets in 9 T20 matches for India.


For his home-state Karnataka, Kumar has played 100 matches.
