The incumbent Edappadi K. Palaniswami is AIADMK’s Chief Ministerial candidate.

Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM) founder and Tamil actor Kamal Haasan will be seen making an active entry in the 2021 Tamil Nadu Assembly Elections.

The opposition Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) in Tamil Nadu Thursday held discussions with its ally the Congress on the seat-sharing formula for the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.

The BJP, with which the AIADMK has an alliance at the Centre, had played a key role in 2017 in forming the dual-leadership formula after Panneerselvam fell out with Sasikala, a close confidante of former chief minister Jayalalithaa, over power-sharing following the actor-turned-politician’s demise.
