Sport-Wise List Of Medals India Won In Asian Games 2023: The Indian contingent has so far shown exceptional prowess in various sporting disciplines, acquiring a total of 73 medals (16 Gold, 26 Silver, 31 Bronze) so far at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. Most of the medals have come in Shooting (7 Gold, 9 Silver, 6 Bronze), while five have come in rowing.
Anahat Singh and Abhay Singh also won a bronze in mixed doubles squash, while Parveen Hooda had to settle for a bronze after suffering defeat in the women's 57kg boxing semifinal. Lovlina Borgohain also ended her stint by winning a silver in the women's 75kg category.
The first ever gold medal came in shooting as the Men's 10m Air Rifle team of Rudrankkash Balasaheb Patil, Aishway Pratap Singh Tomar, and Divyansh Singh Panwar sealed the first yellow metal for India in Asian Games 2023. The same day (September 25), the Indian women's cricket team also clinched a gold medal, their first medal in the history of the Asian Games in their first-ever appearance.
The Women's 10m Air Rifle team with the likes of Mehuli Ghosh, Ramita, and Ashi Chouksey won the first medal for India at the Asian Games 2023 with a total of 1886.0 for a silver medal in Shooting on Sunday, September 24. Chinese trio won the gold, while Mongolia won the bronze. The Indian team is gaming the seven nations that have taken part in all editions of the Asian Games since it's beginning in 1951 along with Indonesia, Japan, Sri Lanka, Philippines, Singapore, and Thailand.
