Tamil superstar Thala Ajith is currently shooting for his one of the most-awaited films of 2021, 'Valimai'. Last seen in H. Vinoth's 'Nerkonda Paarvai', Ajith's fans are eagerly waiting for the release of his next film. The film has been produced by Boney Kapoor and is reportedly expected to release in theaters later this year in November.

Meanwhile, some restless and frustrated Thala fans have started a campaign with #ValimaiUpdate to pressurise the makers of the movie to reveal any sort of information regarding the movie's release.

The campaign has now reached England's Southampton too as a cricket fan, most likely a Ajith fan too, was spotted holding a placard during the India vs New Zealand WTC Final that read, "Valimai update".

A vidoe has also gone viral on social media in which few fans can be seen asking Ashwin about the update while he was training.

Team India's senior off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin, who is currently in England for WTC Final 2021, has also been a victim of #ValimaiUpdate campaign during England's tour of India.

Recalling the hilarious incident during Ind vs Eng match, Ashwin had revealed, “I was standing at the boundary line when I heard someone calling me ‘Thala Ashwin… Ashwin..’ When I responded, the person asked me, ‘What about Valimai update?’ I was totally confused at the question. Then I went back and Googled [what it meant] … I couldn’t stop laughing after that. How could I have made sense of Valimai update while playing cricket?”

"The next day, Moeen asked me what is Valimai? Looks like the same crowd asked him about Valimai update too.”

Ashwin further said, “You guys rock. Master is great but asking an English player about a film’s update is outstanding. I cannot take it off my head!” he chuckled.
