England won the toss and asked India to bat first. In first innings, Virat Kohli's heroic 80 and Rohit Sharma's 64 helped India set a big target of 225 runs in front of England. Despite a good start, England got restricted for 188 for the loss of 8 wickets in 20 overs and lost the series 3-2.

For India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took two wickets for 15 runs in four overs and was awarded the Man of the Match title for his remarkable 4 over spell which had 17 dot balls.

The solid 94-run partnership between Kohli and Rohit was attained by them in their 2nd outing together as openers for the Indian cricket team. It was only the second time after June 2018, Virat was batting as an opener for India in T20 cricket.

After Virat's experiment turned out to be a successful one in today's game, he revealed that he will bat at number 1 slot for Royal Challengers Bangalore in IPL 2021.

During the post-match presentation, he said: Rohit and me were both positive in our intent. We knew we could trust each other. Today it was classic Rohit Sharma. And then Surya coming in at three and taking the game even further away. Then Hardik finishing it. I am going to open in the IPL as well. Have batted in different positions in the past. But I feel we have a solid middle order now. Will definitely like to partner Rohit at the top.
