England wicket keeper, Jos Buttler is likely to miss out from the 4th Oval Test between India and England. A Daily Mail report quoted captain Joe Root saying that Jos Buttler will not be taking part in any Test matches in this year, i.e 2021. The reason for this developement is said to be the birth of Buttler's second child.

Buttler and his wife, Louise are expecting a second child soon. He has already opted out of Indian Premier League (IPL) second leg due to the same reason. It was reported last week that Jos Buttler was going to miss the 5th Test match at Old Trafford as his wife is due to give bith to their child on the Day 1 of the 5th Test.

"That (Buttler's availability) will be cleared up in the next couple of days. Hopefully we can have some clarity on that and get that across to you as soon as that’s set in stone. I couldn’t tell you honestly either way at the minute. I don’t want to say one thing and it not turn out to be true," said Joe Root to Daily Mail.

Buttler's IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals had confirmed on social media about the Englishman's absence from the remainder of IPL. RR wrote, "Jos Buttler will not be part of the remainder of #IPL2021, as he and Louise are expecting a second child soon. We wish them well, and can't wait for the newest member of the #RoyalsFamily."

Buttler has openly spoken out for the mental health of cricketers and the burden due to excessive cricket. "One of the challenges is working out where the line is where you say, 'I can’t do that'," he had said publicly.

"I’ve sacrificed a lot for cricket and my wife and family have sacrificed a lot. You have to be open to saying no," said Jos Buttler.
