New Delhi: US President Donald Trump on Monday asserted that relations with India hold a special place for his country, saying that America "loves" and will always be "loyal" to India. Addressing the 'Namaste Trump' event at the Motera Stadium in Gujarat's Ahmedabad, Trump also announced that the US will seal defence deals worth $3 billion on Tuesday.

While speaking at the Motera Stadium, Trump gave a special mention to Indian cricket legends Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli as the entire crowd in the stadium erupted in joy. The visiting President was not able to pronounce Sachin and in fact he said "Soo-chin Tendulkar" (Sachin Tendulkar).

"This is the country where your people cheer on the biggest cricketers, from Sachin Tendulkar to Virat Kohli, the greatest in the world," said Trump at the event.

The official Twitter handle of International Cricket Council (ICC) on Monday posted a video in which Sachin's name can be seen replacing by Soo-chin Tendulkar in the official record book. ICC captained the video post, "Sach-Such-Satch-Sutch-Sooch-Anyone know?".

A day after praising each other lavishly and vowing to script a better future for people of the two democracies, US President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday will aim to expand India-US global partnership in their extensive talks.

The US President arrived in Ahmedabad with his wife Melania and a ministerial delegation that also included his daughter Ivanka and son-in-law Jared Kushner who serve as senior advisors to Trump.
