India vs England Hockey World Cup 2023: The Hockey World Cup 2023 match between India and England ended in a goalless draw at Rourkela's Birsa Munda Stadium, Sunday. The match ended in a draw but the result ensured England move to top spot in Pool D on account of a better goal difference than India. The Men in Blue are slated to face Wales in their final Group match on January 19 in Bhubaneswar while England will go up against Spain.

After starting their campaign with an emphatic 3-0 win over Spain, the Blues failed to attain a second win in their second Pool D match of the FIH Men's Hockey World Cup.

Harmanpreet Singh-led India gave a tough fight to England, not allowing the visitors to net a single goal. During the match, England got 8 and India got 3 penalty corners, but both the teams failed to convert it into goals and had to settle for a draw.

There was hardly anything to separate between the world no.5 India and sixth-ranked England as both the teams failed to break the deadlock after 60 minutes of intense battle.

India-England have now faced each other nine times in World Cups. While England have won 4 of these matches, 3 have gone India's way, with two matches ending in a draw.

Meanwhile, in the other match of this Pool earlier in the day, Spain has defeated Wales 5-1. This was Wales' second loss in as many matches.
