India's sprinter, Hima Das revealed that she has tested positive for Covid-19. She further informed that she is stable and currently in isolation. Hima Das, the 21-year old sprinter had reported to the National Institute of Sport (NIS), Patiala recently.
Nicknamed 'Dhing Express', Hima Das is a 20-year-old Indian sprinter from Assam. She became the first Indian woman indeed the first-ever Indian athlete to win a gold medal in any format of a global track event at IAAF World U20 Championships.
She informed about her Covid-19 situation on Twitter. She wrote, "I would like to inform everyone that I have been tested positive for Covid-19. I am stable and at the moment in isolation. I look forward to utilising this time to recover and come back stronger than before."

Hima Das has won two gold medals at the Asian Games and one gold medal at the U-20 Championships. Recently, the World Championship sprinter was appointed as a Deputy Superintendent of Police in her home state of Assam.
Hima Das missed her first-ever Olympics tournament due to an unfortunate injury.
