WWE Clash At The Castle 2024: Well, just like Wrestlemania 40, it was CM Punk who had the last laugh over Drew McIntyre, as 'The Voice of the Voiceless' interferes in the main event of the WWE Clash At The Castle 2024, and in the process, costing Drew McIntyre his shot at the World Heavyweight Championship. The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) hosted WWE Clash At The Castle pey-per-view in Glasgow, Scotland, which turned out to be a huge success, as an attendance of over 14,000 was recorded at the venue.

People and WWE experts have started calling this yet another 'screwjob', as CM Punk managed to humiliate Drew McIntyre in front of his home crowd. 'Screwjob' refers to the term in professional wrestling when creative heads inform or do not inform the participating wrestler of the script and events to follow up during the course of the match.

The most famous incident of this was back in 1997, which is known as the 'Montreal Screwjob', as Vince McMahon costed Canadian hero Bret Hart his championship belt at the hands of 'Heart Break Kid' Shawn Michaels, and the reason why it is called a 'screwjob' is because Bret 'The Hitman' Hart informed the management and the creatives that he did not want to drop the belt in front of his home crowd, but was screwed off for the belt anyway.

Drew McIntyre Loses His Calm After Suffering Humiliation At Home

An emotional Drew McIntyre almost realised his finest hour once again, but CM Punk's iconic guest referee appearance made him the 'New Number 1 Public Enemy of Scotland' (as labelled by legendary commentator Michael Cole during the match), as he stopped the pin-fall count on two and Drew's reaction seemed like he has seen a ghost.

An angry and fuming 'Scottish Warrior' attacked CM Punk near the turnbuckle, before the latter delivered the low-blow and Damian Priest capitalised on the opportunity and pinned Drew McIntyre to retain his title.

The former World Heavyweight Champion could not digest his defeat and lashed out at everyone while on his way back into the locker room.
