Nice Vs Marseille: As Dimitri Payet fell on the ground near the corner, a bottle was thrown at him by some rival Nice fans. Payet had no second thoughts in throwing the bottle back at the crowd. What happened later will not only shock you but also make you wonder about the conduct of some fans during a live match.

After Payet threw the bottle, there was a violent reaction from the Nice fans, forcing the staff and squad of both the teams to intervene. A brawl-like situation occurred at the stadium where the staff, players, spectators, and coaches got involved in the fight. Things turned chaotic and the match had to be called off. The scenes took place during a Ligue 1 match between Nice and Marseille at the Allianz Riviera Stadium in Nice, France

Take a look at the video of the ugly scenes during Nice Vs Marseille:

The referees wanted to continue the game as per the rules of Ligue de Football Professionnel, the French football governing body but Marseille's boss said it was "unacceptable" to continue the match. Thus, the match was aborted.

When the match got abandoned in the 75th minute, Nice was leading with 1-0 courtesy of a 49th-minute goal by Dolberg. Due to the ugly incident, the match had to be aborted and despite having a goal's lead, Nice failed to get the three points and had to settle for a draw. This is a slight setback for Nice who had won their previous match against Lille by 4-0.

“We need to set precedents for French football. The referee was with us, he confirmed that to us, that safety was not assured. His decision was to abandon the match, but the LFP decided to restart the match. It is not acceptable for us," Marseille President Pablo Longoria told The Guardian.

Ligue 1 is the same league where stars like Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr, and Mbappe play.
