Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspurs have reportedly hijacked the deal for Lucas Bergvall off La Liga giants FC Barcelona as they ended up paying extra 10 million euros on the undisclosed transfer fee for the player. The Swedish teen sensation will join the North London club from Djurgarden and now that her turns 18 today (February 2), the Swedish midfielder is now eligible to sign a contract as well. The deal comes in as a huge shock for FC Barcelona who were all but sure that they have landed the starlet at Camp Nou.
But now, with the move falling apart on the brink of the end of the Deadline Day, the transfer market hasn't been that good for the Blaugrana as they are currently enduring one of the worst seasons in their history. Adding more salt to the wounds, the five-time European champions are now 10 points behind their biggest and most fierce rivals, Real Madrid.
Lucas Bergvall's Career In A Nutshell
Lucas Bergvall turns 18 today, that is, Friday, February 2, and has sent waves across Europe with his scintillating passing and gameplay. Also adding to the fact that the Swedish teen sensation is a phenomenal midfielder for his age, his tendency to avoid lunging oneself into harsh tackling situations speaks volumes about the calmness and cool-headed temperament of the latest Spurs signing.
It is also reported that compatriot Dejan Kulusevski played a pivotal role in luring the teenager to England as his signing will boost the creative department of the midfield that they have extremely lacked ever since the departure of club veteran, the legendary midfielder Christian Eriksen, who's currently playing for Premier League rivals Manchester United.
