Manchester City head coach Pep Guradiola, on Tuesday, February 27, has given an outrageous and interesting statement on the Carabao Cup, as the legendary manager labelled the competition as 'not so important' and stated that 'nobody cares' about the competition. The comments came in the aftermath of the Carabao Cup 2024 Final, in which Liverpool's young guns ousted Chelsea in a jam-packed Wembley Stadium, as The Reds prevailed with a 1-0 win, thanks to a dying-munite winner by Virgil Van Dijk in extra time.

Pep Guardiola also stated thatbthe club had lost the charisma and desire to win the Carabao Cup, as such was the dominance of the side that they shidted their focus on pmajor competitions such as UEFA Champions League and Premier League.

“The fourth time we travelled there to win the Carabao Cup for the fourth time in a row, it was, ‘Well, it’s OK, another one, another day in the office’,” said the Spaniard.

Interestingly, it was the Carabao Cup that was the first ever silverware of Pep Guardiola at Manchester City after enduring a first ever trophyless season of his career, which was the 2016/17 season. They went on to win the competition four consecutive times, but ever since their triumph in 2021, City have not made it to the final ever since.
