Football superstar Lionel Messi is widely regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever to have played the game. The former FC Barcelona forward is currently plying his trade for Inter Miami and is in the Middle East for a pre-season tour with the team. However, before Messi will showcase his footballing brilliance on the field in that part of the World, he can be seen kicking a ball in a latest video promoting Saudi Arabian tourism. 



The video is titled "Go Beyond What You Think" with the campaign "Saudi, Welcome to Arabia' aimed at breaking some of the misconceptions about Arabia. The video is launched days ahead of the Riyadh Season Cup 2024 in which Messi will also be plying his trade against Cristiano Ronaldo's Al-Nassr with the friendly match set to be played on February 1 at 11:30 pm (IST).

Ballon d'Or, FIFA Best Awards Losing Credibility: Cristiano Ronaldo

Meanwhile, Ronaldo, in a recent statement indirectly took a Lionel Messi. While interacting with one of Portugal's sports newspapers, Ronaldo seemed to suggest that Ballon d'Or and FIFA Best Awards seemed to be losing their credibility. He said that after Messi managed to clinch both the awards this time around. The Portugal legend, meanwhile, won multiple awards at the Dubai Globe Soccer Awards including the best goal scorer of the year.

"It’s not to say that Messi didn’t deserve it, or Haaland or even Mbappe, I simply no longer believe in these awards and it’s not because I won at the globe soccer but these are facts, the numbers are there and the numbers don’t deceive," he said.
