New Delhi: Argentina legend Lionel Messi, playing in his fifth and most likely final edition of the FIFA World Cup, will leave no stone unturned to break through the 'formidable defense' of Luka Modric-led Croatia to set up a dream final of the FIFA World Cup at the Lusail Stadium on Tuesday. The 37-year-old Modric, on the other hand, is playing his fourth World Cup, likely his last appearance in the mega tournament. The star player will aim to upset Messi, and get his country the first world title under his captaincy.

FIFA has appointed  Daniele Orsato to officiate the 2022 Qatar World Cup semifinal clash between Argentina and Croatia. This is the third time he will be playing the role of referee in the Qatar World Cup in 2022.  The Italy-based referee was in charge of a group-stage match between Argentina and Mexico. Though he has not officiated in any matches of the Round of 16 or quarter-finals. 


Daniele Orsato is a renowned respected referee. He refereed his first Serie C match back in the year 2002. He was asked to officiate in Serie A match in 2007. The 47-year-old has officiated in over 250 Serie A games and has been a UEFA Champions League referee since 2012.
