Marc Andre Ter Stegen Injury: FC Barcelona deal a huge blow in their 2024/25 campaign, as club captain and star goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter Stegen sustained a horrible injury on Sunday, and with that, he has now been sidelined until the official update.

By the looks of the injury, it does look like the German legend will miss the remainder of the year, and Culers are extremely upset with the latest injury, as fixtures against Bayern Munich and fierce rivals Real Madrid are less than a month away.

"Tests carried out on the first team player Marc ter Stegen confirm that he has a complete rupture of the patella tendon in his right knee. On Monday afternoon he will undergo a surgical process and once complete a new update will be released," read the official club statement of FC Barcelona.

The injury occured during the first-half of the Villarreal Vs FC Barcelona fixture in La Liga 2024/25, at the Estadio de la Cerámica, as the German goalkeeper landed awkwardly after catching a cross. The injury forced his substituion and was replaced by Iñaki Peña.

The current captain of FC Barcelona has started every game this season. His 289th appearance in a Blaugrana shirt vs Villarreal now moves him up to third position in the all-time goalkeeper appearance record for the club, surpassing the legendary Antoni Ramallets.

Robert Lewandowski Dedicates Win To Marc Andre Ter Stegen

FC Barcelona have returned to winning ways and have now registered 6 wins out of 6 La Liga games this season, as Blaugrana are looking unstoppable in the league this season.

Their 5-1 win against Villarreal included braces from Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha, and a goal from Pablo Torre. Lamine Yamal was once again outstanding as the 17-year-old though failed to score, with his attempts hitting the woodwork, but managed to provide an outrageous assist via trivela (outside of his boot), as his special delivery was well-met by Raphinha.

The Polish striker, after the conclusion of the match, dedicated the win to Marc Andre Ter Stegen during the post-match on-field interview.
