La Liga giants FC Barcleona have announced the appoinment of Hansi Flick as the new head coach of the club, after the club terminated the contract of previous manager — Xavi Hernandez. Hansi Flick has signed a two-year deal with the Blaugrana and will take charge of the clun with immediate effect.

Hansi Flick, though has now become one of their own, but the Barca faithful will never forget the pain inflicted on them by the German, as he was behind Bayern Munich's legendary 2019/20 squad, who won the UEFA Champions League without even drawing or losing a single match. However, they did it via handing FC Barcelona their worst-ever European defeat, an '8-2' defeat in the quarter final stage of the season.

Hansi Flick's Managerial Career So Far

Hans-Dieter Flick is one of the most renowned managers in football history, as he is amongst the rarest managers to win a treble. Till date, he is the only manager alongside Pep Guardiola (FC Barcelona 2009) to win a 'sextuple' (six trophies in a calendar year). His trophy cabinet with Bayern Munich is a rich one, as he won the 'sextuple' with the club in 2020, and managed the club for only one full season, as he left the job in concern with the offer of the head coach post from the German National Team.

However, his tenure with national team of Germany did not go well, as the 4-time FIFA World Cup winners suffered second successive group stage exit from the biggest tournament on planet Earth. The UEFA Nations League too did not go well and the German suffered a sacking from the job in September 2023.
