Euro 2024 Final: Spain have drawn 'first blood' in the UEFA Euro 2024 Final against England, as Lamine Yamal provides a lovely assist for Nico Williams to open the scoring. The goal came within the starting minutes of the second half, as Spain showed instant pace and reaction in their counter attack which was taken on by Lamine Yamal out on the right, and he cut inside to create space and Nico Williams, who was completely unmarked, scored in the 47th minute to give La Roja the lead.

Nico Williams Ends Euro 2024 Campaign With Player Of The Match Award In Final

Nico Williams was truly the architect of England's hammering in the Euro 2024 final, as his blistering and daunting runs traumatised the English defence, and his excellent footwork and dribbling gave The Three Lions a hard time to contain him. For his exceptional performance in the final, the 22-year old Basque-region player was awarded the Player of the Match award.

Nico Williams has had a stellar Euro 2024 overall, not just in the final, as the Spanish winger started in 6 matches for Spain at the tournament. In his 495 minutes of play, the winger managed an assist alongside his two goals, and attempted 11 shots in total, out of which, three were on target.

The Athletic Bilbao player had a passing accuracy of 90.4% and made 169 successful passes, which is an astonishing stat for a winger. He created 13 chances in total and had 10 successful crosses. The main stat that caught the eyes of football experts was his successful dribbles and touches inside the opposition box, as he made 13 successful dribbles and had 29 touches inside the box. The success rate of dribbling was quite low, but that won't matter if you manage to score a memorable goal in a Euro final, and Nico Williams is indeed, one for the future!
