Paris Saint-Germain and France footballer, Kylian Mbappe, in an interview, said that he wanted to leave the Paris-based club in the 2021 summer transfer window. He also said that he wanted PSG to have a "quality replacement" in his place but he "did not appreciate" the club stating that Mbappe informed about his request in August.

Mbappe was talking in an interview with RMC Sport where he accepted that he had asked for a transfer away from PSG. “I asked to leave Paris Saint-Germain, yes. It was in July and because from the moment I didn't want to extend the contract, I wanted the club to receive a transfer fee to have a quality replacement," he told RMC Sport.

“I wanted something respectful between me and PSG: I said, if you don't want me to leave, I'll stay”.

Lionel Messi joined PSG in August. Since then, football fans can't stop showing their excitement to see Messi, Neymar and Mbappe together in one team. It was speculated that Messi joining PSG would help an Mbappe transfer out of Paris, but that did not happen. Mbappe continues to play for PSG.

“Personally, I didn't really appreciate Paris Saint-Germain saying 'He is asking to leave in the last week of August…' because that is wrong. It made me feel like a theif. I informed them early, at the end of July," Mbappe said in the interview.

“I asked to leave in July, yes - but it’s not true that I’ve turned down 7 contract extension proposals… Paris Saint-Germain have given me a lot, I know. I have always been happy in the four years I spent here, and I still am," clarified Mbappe.
