Uruguay failed to score enough goals in this victory and is out of the World Cup. The fact that their players are arguing with the referee and chasing him down the tunnel is of little consequence at this point.

Neither one of the sides did what was necessary for this game to advance.

Background

FIFA World Cup 2022 Score HIGHLIGHTS: Hello and welcome to ABP Live for the FIFA World Cup football coverage. On Thursday, the 2022 football World Cup witnessed a major twist as the considered favourites Germany missed the Round Of 16 berth. On Friday, December 2, two clashes feature in Qatar World Cup. The two matches on Friday include South Korea taking on Portugal in a Group H clash and Ghana all set to lock horns with Uruguay from Group H.

The South Korea Vs Portugal match is slated to start at 8.30 pm IST, the Ghana Vs Uruguay match will also start at 8.30 pm IST. All the group stage matches will end on Friday and the last remaining 4 spots for the FIFA World Cup 2022 Round of 16 will be filled.

South Korea Vs Portugal

Portugal beat Ghana 3-2 and then Uruguay 2-0 in Group H to secure their spot in the knockout stage. South Korea, on the other hand, had a goalless draw with Uruguay before losing to Ghana 3-2. South Korea must beat Portugal on Friday at Education City Stadium, also in Al Rayyan, and then hope Uruguay beat Ghana or the two countries end in a draw the same evening. The two teams last met at FIFA World Cup 2002 when South Korea won 1-0, securing qualification to the last 16 and eliminating Portugal.

Ghana Vs Uruguay

Ghana is headed into the game with three points, having suffered a 3-2 loss to Portugal but bounced back to beat South Korea by the same score. A win today would guarantee Ghana a place in the Round of 16 but a draw would put the fate in the hands of South Korea. Korea has to beat Portugal by two or more goals in their final group game in order for Ghana to advance. Uruguay head into the match with a solitary point from their goalless draw against South Korea. Uruguay lost their second match 2-0 to Portugal.
