New Delhi: England women cricketers Nat Sciver and Katherine Brunt, after dating each other for almost five years, tied the knot on Sunday, May 29. Both star cricketers were part of the 2017 England Women's World Cup-winning team at the iconic Lords cricket stadium. In 2017-18, this couple had officially announced that they are in a relationship. Sciver and Brunt had planned to get married in 2020 but due to the coronavirus epidemic, but their plans were delayed. The adorable couple finally got married after two years.
Nowadays, same-sex marriage is not uncommon. Sciver and Brunt are not the first same-sex couple to be married or engaged in the cricketing fraternity. New Zealand's Amy Satterthwaite and Lee Tahuhu, South Africa's Marijne Cup and Dane van Niekerk and Australia's Alex Blackwell are some of the leading couples in women's cricket who married a person of the same gender.
Back in October 2019, Nat and Katherine got engaged. As per reports, they had planned to get married in September 2020 but the dreaded Covid-19 threat forced them to call off their wedding, and now after many years of being together in a relationship, they happily tied the knot.
Katherine Brunt and Nat Sciver were part of the England squad at the ICC Women's World Cup 2022. At the start of the tournament, defending champions England lost three consecutive games but quickly bounced back with consecutive wins to make it to the final. England lost the World Cup final against Australia. The team has its eyes set on ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2023 which will be played in South Africa.
