New Delhi: Wasim Jaffer often makes headlines with his hilarious memes on social media. The quintessential unorthodox batter seems to have a meme for almost every situation. Jaffer's latest hilarious meme, which can also be taken as a jibe at Indian cricket critics, was on the first Test match between England and New Zealand being played at iconic Lord's Cricket Ground in London.
A total of 17 wickets fell on day 1 of England vs New Zealand 1st Test after which Jaffer made a tweet about this, which is becoming very viral. Batting first, New Zealand got bundled up for 132 runs. In reply, hosts England also lost seven wickets for 116 runs at the end of day's play.
Sharing the meme of Salman Khan's famous song 'Main Karoon Toh Saala Character Dheela Hai', Jaffer wrote, "When 17 wickets fall in a day at Lord's, talk is about the skills of the bowlers. When 17 wickets fall in a day in Ahmedabad, talk is about conditions."
Ex-India pacer Dodda Ganesh too posted a tweet while criticizing people who show 'selective criticism'.
"Had 17 wickets fallen on day-1 of a test, in India, hell would’ve broken loose by now. But this is lord’s you know," he tweeted.
Notably, it has been observed in the past that the Indian team management and pitches have been put under major scrutiny if too many wickets fall on a single day in a Test match on Indian soil.
Talking about day 1 of Eng vs NZ 1st Test at Lords, England's score was once two wickets for 92 runs, but then NZ bowlers picked some quick wickets to push back the hosts to seven wickets for 100 runs. James Anderson and Matty Potts took four wickets each for England, while Tim Southee, Trent Boult and Kyle Jamieson bagged two wickets each for New Zealand.
