Pakistan skipper Babar Azam (158 runs of 139 balls) made a special record by scoring a ton in the third match of the Eng vs Pak ODI series. In this match, Babar made a world record for scoring 14 centuries in the shortest innings (81) while scoring the 14th century of his career.


The star batsman overtook the legendary South African batsman Hashim Amla (14 centuries in 82 innings). Australian opener David Warner  (14 centuries in 84 innings) is at the third place among the players who have completed 14 ODI centuries in the shortest innings.

In this list, Indian captain Virat Kohli is at the fourth position after completing 14 ODI centuries in 103 innings. After flopping in the first two matches of the ODI series, Babar made a tremendous comeback and scored a century.


With this brilliant century, Babar Azam attained four big feats. He made his highest score in ODIs. He now holds the record for the highest ODI innings by Pakistan batsman against England and the biggest innings as the captain of Pakistan. Babar Azam also made the highest score by any captain against England.


Babar is now at number three in the list of players who have scored the most centuries in ODI cricket from Pakistan. Mohammad Yusuf and Saeed Anwar have scored more centuries than him.


He completed his century in the 38th over of Pakistan's innings by hitting a four off Saqib Mahmood.


Apart from Babar, Imam and Rizwan scored half-centuries in this match.  With the help of this, Pakistan was able to cross the 300-run mark for the first time in the ongoing ODI series against England.  The Pakistan team put a total of 331 runs on the board in 50 overs, giving England a target of 332 runs to win.


England beat Pakistan by 3 wickets in the 3rd ODI to clean sweep the series 3-0.  An inexperienced England team achieved the target of 332 runs in the third ODI at Edgbaston on Tuesday, losing seven wickets in the 48th over.
