New Delhi: Shubman Gill's (84) blistering knock and a clinical bowling spell from Lockie Ferguson (4/28) powered Gujarat Titans beat Delhi Capitals by 14 runs in last-over thriller at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Saturday.

Earlier, Delhi captain Rishabh Pant opted to bowl first after winning the toss. Shubman Gill played his IPL career's best-ever knock (84 runs off 46 balls) to help Gujarat Titans set a respectable 172-run target against Delhi Capitals. For Delhi, pace bowler Mustafizur Rahman bagged the maximum three wickets.

Delhi had a great start as they departed Matthew Wade for just one run in first over. Gill along with Vijay Shankar then steadied their innings by building a partnership to push their total to 44 at the end of powerplay.

Kuldeep Yadav then broke this stand by dismissing Shankar. Skipper Hardik Pandya (31 runs off 27 balls) was the next man in and he went on to stitch a 65-run stand to ensure Gujarat scored 100-plus runs in 13.1 overs.

Delhi bowlers then kept on taking wickets at regular intervals to restrict Gujarat  to 171/6 in 20 overs.
