England cricketer Danni Wyatt, on Thursday, took to Twitter to announce her engagement to her partner Georgie Hodge --  football agent and head of women's football at CAA Base.

Wyatt posted her engagement photo from Cape Town, South Africa, where she played the Women's T20 World Cup 2023. She was part of England's T20 World Cup squad which reached the Women's T20 World Cup 2023 semi-final. England failed to qualify for T20 WC final after losing to hosts South Africa in nail-biting thriller.

Wyatt had entered the inaugural Women Premier League (WPL 2023) auction with a base price of INR 50 lakhs but went unsold. However, if luck favors her, she might be able to participate in the tournament if any team decided to call in her as a replacement player.

England will host arch-rivals Australia from June 22 to July 18 for one-off Test and three-match ODI and T20I series. If Wyatt doesn't get called-up for WPL 2023, she is expected to participate in the Eng vs Aus series.

"Mine forever," cricketer Danni Wyatt wrote in the caption of her Twitter post.

Wyatt, England women cricket team's second-highest run-scorer in T20Is, said she was ‘heartbroken’ after failing to find any buyer in WPL 2023 auction.

“Dreamt of playing in the WPL. Heartbroken. Congrats to all who got picked up. India is a wonderful place to play cricket,” Wyatt wrote on Twitter.

Wyatt made her ODI and T20 debut for England in 2010. In 102 ODIs for England, she has scored 1776 runs with help of 2 centuries and has scored 2369 runs in 143 T20Is with help of 2 tons. She started as a middle order batter in her career's initial phase, and started opening from 2017. She is yet to make her debut in Tests.
