New Delhi: The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 is set to start on March 26th. The first match of the season will be played between defending champions Chennai Super Kings and runners-up Kolkata Knight Riders at Mumbai's iconic Wankhede Stadium.


Less than 20 days are left for the cash-rich tournament to start. Both CSK and KKR have started their preparations for the season opener. Chennai is currently practicing at the Lala Bhai Contractor Stadium in Surat under the leadership of 'Thala' Dhoni.


MS Dhoni, the 40-year-old wicketkeeper batter, is set to return to the cricketing field with a 'jacked-up physique'. Pictures and videos of MS Dhoni flexing his huge biceps have gone viral on social media.














With two new teams -- Lucknow Supergiants and Gujarat Titans -- added to the IPL, a total of 74 matches (70 league matches and 4 playoff matches) will be played this season. There will be a total of 12 double-headers with the first match starting at 3:30 PM IST and all evening games will be played at &:30 PM IST.


The league stage matches of IPL 2022 will be played at four stadiums – Wankhede Stadium and Cricket Club of India in Mumbai, DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, and Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
