Cristiano Ronaldo found the back of the net twice for Juventus in Italian soccer giants 2-1 win over Lazio on Monday and helped his club inch closer to yet another Serie A title.

Ronaldo converted a penalty in the 51st minute on Monday for his record-setting tally, and added a second goal in his club's 2-1 win to reach the 30-goal mark for this season. It made the Portugal striker just the third player in the past six decades to reach the herculean milestone. Fiorentina’s Luca Toni had 31 in 2005-06 and Napoli’s Gonzalo Higuain scored 36 times in 2015-16.

Ronaldo's double strike against Lazio was also his 50th goal for Juventus since joining them two years back. The Portuguese goal poacher achieved a record of sorts as he became the first player in history to surpass the 50-goal mark in three major soccer leagues around the world. 'CR 7' has scaled the 50-goal mark during his stints with Manchester United in the Premier League, Real Madrid in La Liga and now with Juventus in Serie A

The Juventus-Lazio encounter was a landmark game for Ciro Immobile as the Lazio striker also scored his 30th goal of the season late in Monday’s match, joining Ronaldo and the others in their hallowed ground.

Ronaldo is the fastest to 50 Serie A goals in the past quarter century, taking just 61 games to get to the milestone. Andriy Shevchenko took 68 games to do it with AC Milan.
