After his appointment, Zaheer expressed in an interview with Cricbuzz that he decided to be part of the franchise because he finds the owners to be ‘like-minded.’ He said that he quickly connected with their vision for the game and found that the existing foundation of the team made his decision to come on board swift and smooth.
“I got on the call, I realized that we (the LSG management) are very like-minded people about cricket, how cricket should be played at the franchise level and how the cricketing culture should be built in a franchise. That is the simple connection which I can tell you right now. Of course, there is passion and drive. On the other side, the building blocks are already in place. So the decision was very, very swift and smooth,” Zaheer told Cricbuzz.
