The Yo-Yo test is not easy. If a few of the top Indian cricketers failing to clear it was not an indication, then England’s fittest cricketer (in terms of Yo-Yo scores) Alastair Cook huffing and puffing after completing the test will surely prove it.

Ahead of the opening Test match between India and England veteran England batsman Cook was left drained after going through the brutal Yo-Yo test with teammate James Anderson.

The duo was seen sprinting between two posts. While Cook, panting heavily, went to the ground as soon as he was done with the final run, ace pacer Anderson seemed to be very comfortable after the commencement of the brutal hard-hearted test. Teammates Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow and others were seen cheering up their former captain by giving a pat on his back.

Though the scores of the current test were not revealed by the England and Wales Cricket Board, Cook, who is considered the fittest cricketer of England, has been scoring the highest in the yo-yo test for last two years.

In the Indian cricket team, likes of Ambato Rayudu and Mohammed Shami were left out of England tour after they failed to pass the mandatory parameters of the test. The minimum score required to pass the test is 16.1, which involves intense running drills to test the strength and endurance of the players.

Indian captain Virat Kohli and other team members too had to pass the test before travelling to England. India is slated to face England for the first test match of the five-match test series, which is scheduled to begin from August 1.
