World Test Championship Points Table: Australia beat England by a huge margin of 275 runs in the second Ashes Test. Australia has now taken a 2-0 lead in the series. The Australian team played the Adelaide match without their regular captain Pat Cummins and pacer Josh Hazlewood.


Led by Steve Smith, Australia batted first and declared their first innings at 473-9. The England batsmen's flop show continued and the entire team was bowled out for 236, giving Australia a lead of 237 runs. 


The Australian team scored 230 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the second innings, gaving England a huge target of 486 to win. England tried to save the match on the fifth day, with a dogged approach from Jos Buttler. He scored 26 runs off 207 balls. Despite Buttler's innings, the England team suffered a crushing 275-run defeat. With this win, the Australia team has also benefited in the points table of the World Test Championship. The team is on second place with 24 points.



Meanwhile, Sri Lankan team remains in the first place. It also has 24 points. Team India is in fourth spot with 42 points. The Indian team lags behind Pakistan in terms of percentage. This is the reason that it is fourth in the points table. Third-ranked Pakistan have 36 points. 


England, who have lost two consecutive Tests, are seventh. It has only six points. After losing to Australia, captain Joe Root said, "I think we competed in patches, but we needed to fight throughout the match. We had great attitude, today was fantastic. We just need to do more of it. I hope we will keep the same mindset for the rest of the series."
