WPL 2025 Auction Highlights: Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction took place today in Bengaluru, following Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction held last month. While the IPL auction saw some players being sold for over Rs 25 crores, WPL 2025 auction saw 19 players being sold for a total of Rs 9.5 crore. With this, all five teams have finalized their squads for the upcoming season.
A total of 19 vacant slots were filled in WPL 2025 mini auction, with 124 players up for bid, as most teams had retained their core players. Only four players in the auction fetched bids over Rs 1 crore. These included uncapped Indian players Simran Sheikh, G Kamalini, and Prema Rawat, as well as West Indies star Deandra Dottin.
Simran Sheikh emerged as the most expensive player of WPL 2025 auction, with Gujarat Giants securing her for Rs 1.9 crore, far exceeding her base price of Rs 10 lakh. West Indies' Deandra Dottin was bought by Gujarat Giants for Rs 1.7 crore. Mumbai Indians purchased G Kamalini for Rs 1.6 crore, while Prema Rawat was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore for Rs 1.2 crore.
