Fans are eagerly waiting for the upcoming auction of the much-awaited second edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL),  which is slated to take place on Saturday, December 9, 2023, in Mumbai. The mega event is expected to start in February or March of the next year. Just ahead of the auction, take a look at the 10 foreign players who can collect handsome amount of money.

Kim Garth (Australia):  Australia’s Kim Garth has a base price of INR 50 lakh and she is useful both with the bat and bowl. In the previous edition of the WPL, she played for Gujarat Giants and also ended the season as their leading wicket-taker. In 7 games, Garth scalped 11 wickets with 5/36 being her best.

Shabnim Ismail (South Africa):  South Africa’s pacer Ismail can cause problems for the batters with both her pace and swing. She represented UP Warriorz in the previous season and took three wickets at an economy of 8.76.

Annabel Sutherland (Australia): Sutherland who is an Australian allrounder could grab attention in the auction. Despite not performing well in the previous season for Gujarat, she can earn good bucks because of her aggressive style and all-around abilities.

Tara Norris (USA): Playing for the USA team, Norris chips in with a rare element of pace bowling. She played for Delhi Capitals in the last edition and got to play 5 games. She ended up taking 7 wickets, including a 5-wicket haul.

Phoebe Litchfield (Australia): An explosive batter from Australia, Litchfield is known for her aggressive style of play. She has not featured in the WPL as of now and this year she is likely to be on every team’s radar.

Georgia Wareham (Australia): A talented wrist spinner from Australia, Wareham is a wicket-taking bowler. She plied her trade for Gujarat in the previous season but could not get many matches to show her finesse. She only played in two games where she took a wicket and made 30 runs.

Danielle Wyatt (England): Wyatt needs no introduction as she is one of the prolific batters of the England team. She went unsold in the last edition of the WPL and franchises would be interested in buying her to play the upcoming season.

Alana King (Australia): Yet another wrist spinner from Australia, King is set to hog the limelight in the upcoming auction of the WPL. She can trouble batters with her crafty spin bowling and also with a lot of variations.

Chamari Athapaththu (Sri Lanka): Athapaththu leads the Sri Lanka team and is known for her power-hitting abilities. In the last season, she failed to find any buyers but then this time on the back of her batting heroics in WBBL 2023, she can be a crucial prospect for every franchise.

Tammy Beaumont (England): English keeper/Batter Beaumont who is known for her consistent batting remained unsold in the last season. She could be a player to watch out for in the upcoming bidding event.
