New Zealand skipper Kane Williamson became only the second New Zealand batsman to register 500 runs in a single edition of the Cricket World Cup.
The elegant Kiwi batsman achieved the milestone while batting against India in the semifinal encounter at Old Trafford in Manchester.
The stylish right handed batsman joined Kiwi opener Martin Guptill in the elite list of Black Caps who have gone past the 500-run milestone at the showpiece event.
Martin Guptill scored 547 runs in the 2015 Cricket World Cup co-hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Scott Styris is third highest run scorer in a single edition of the World Cup with 499 runs for NZ in 2007 CWC.
Williamson is the highest run scorer for New Zealand in the ongoing World Cup and has registered two ton against West Indies and South Africa.
The Kiwi skipper has also tonked 14 sixes in the eight matches he has featured
