India's dream of lifting the World Cup trophy for the third time recieved a massive set back on Wednesday as the Men in Blue suffered a 18-run defeat against New Zealand in a nail-biting semi-final at Old Trafford, Manchester

Chasing 240, India got off to the worst start after they were three wickets down in the first 4 overs of the second innings. However, Ravindra Jadeja produced a spectacular innings , who came in to bat at No. 8, keeping India's hopes alive in the game.

Ravindra Jadeja who came into bat with India reeling at 92 for 6, stitched a valiant partnership with MS Dhoni to win many hearts and draw the appreciation from the critics.

Former India cricketer turned commentator Sanjay Manjrekar, who had called Ravindra Jadeja a '' bits and pieces cricketer' also appreciated the left-hander for his brave knock.

Sanjar Manjrekar wrote on Twitter, "Well played Jadeja" and added a wink at the end of his tweet.

Ravindra Jadeja who did not play in the first 8 matches of India's World Cup campaign, produced all-round heroics with bat, ball and his superlative fielding in the later stage of the tournament.

Jadeja was involved in spat with Sanjay Manjrekar as he had strongly replied to Sanjay Manjrekar after the former India cricketer-turned commentator called him a "bits and pieces" cricketer.

"I am not a big fan of bits and pieces players which Jadeja is at this point of his career in 50-over cricket. In Test matches, he is a pure bowler. But in 50-over cricket, I would rather have a batsman and a spinner," Manjrekar had said.

Ravindra Jadeja was far from impressed with Manjrekar's analysis and took to Twitter to say that he has had enough of Manjrekar's 'verbal diarrhoea'.

In a post match presentation, India captain Virat Kohli also hailed Jadeja for his breathtaking analysis.

"Jadeja had a really good couple of games and it's his performances that are a huge positive. New Zealand deserve it, they put us under more pressure," Kohli said.
