After registering a clinical win over arch rivals Pakistan at Old Trafford, Indian players were given a two-day break to switch off, relax and come back stronger before their next game against Afghanistan in Southampton on Saturday.

India young wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant is likely to make his World Cup debut when India takes on Afghanistan on Saturday.

Skipper Virat Kohli took to Instagram on Thursday to post a photograph of himself with Rishabh Pant. The duo enjoyed a trip around Southampton.

"Southampton diaries with this champ," Kohli wrote as caption for the photo.

Having started off late in the tournament, playing their first match after the completion of seven World Cup matches, India played three games in 12 days with the game against New Zealand being washed off without a ball being bowled. They have won three of the four games and are now sitting third on the points table with seven points from four matches.

Promising Pant is already with the team as cover for ruled-out injured Dhawan. He reached Manchester and joined the Indian team ahead of the clash against Pakistan on June 16.

Pant had scored impressive hundreds during the Test tours of England and Australia. He also enjoyed a good run in the IPL last month.
