Ashleigh Gardner Produces 'Player Of The Match' Performance In Win Vs Pakistan Women

The Australian all-rounder did the trick for the reigning T20 world champions by picking up vital wickets of Iram Javed, Tuba Hassan, Syeda Aroob Shah, and Nashra Sandhu, and in the process, registering the figures of 4/21 in her four overs.

Her efforts helped Australia Women bundle out Pakistan Women quickly and later came to bat and scored an unbeaten 7 off 5 in the side's run-chase.

"It was nice conditions to be honest. There was some little extra bounce than we saw in Sharjah. It was a clinical performance from the bowling perspective. Yeah, it certainly did to see one of our best mates to go down. We are certainly feeling for her. She is in good spirits. It was unfortunate for her to go down after coming here. I feel like I have been training in the right direction," said Ashleigh Gardner during the post-match presentation ceremony.

"A nice challenge coming up against India. It will challenge me. I must have clear plans while playing against them. But credit to everyone for putting up a good performance. This is the best part of this team. We saw Georgia Wareham bat at three in some games and is also a great finisher. We are all clear in our role. Our order is so fluid. Credit to our top order for putting on a show," she added.
