BCCI announced the Indian squad for three T20Is, three ODIs in Caribbean nations starting from 3 August, followed by two-match Test series which will begin on 22 August.

In the ODI squad, Kedar Jadhav and Kuldeep Yadav had a poor run in the WC 2019 but the selectors giving them another go came up as one of the biggest surprise. Shubhman Gill, who has been in great form in the recent times, has not been included in the limited-overs squad.

According to ESPNCricinfo, Shubman Gill admits he was disappointed on not being names in India squad

"It was disappointing not to get picked but I am not going to spend time thinking over it. I'll keep scoring runs and performing to the best of my ability to impress the selectors"

The exclusion of Shubman Gill and Ajinkya Rahane from the India squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against West Indies has surprised former skipper Sourav Ganguly.

"There are many in the squad who can play all formats...surprised not to see Shubman Gill...(Ajinkya) Rahane in the one day squad..."

He also said that it was time for the Indian selectors to pick same players in all the three formats in order to instil confidence in them.

"Time has come for Indian selectors to pick same players in all formats of the game for rhythm and confidence... Too few are playing in all formats... Great teams have consistent players... It's not about making all happy but picking the best for the country and be consistent," he said.

Gill, who made his ODI debut with the senior squad during India's tour to New Zealand earlier this year, was part of the India A squad that recently played three one-day matches against West Indies A, scoring 218 runs in four innings.
