Why there is no reserve day for India vs England T20 World Cup 2024 semifinal in Guyana?

Two semifinal matches and the final match of T20 World Cup 2024 will take place in West Indies. According to the schedule in West Indies, the semifinal matches are on June 26 and 27, as per the local time. However, in India as per IST (Indian Standard Time), both semifinal matches will end on the same day, Thursday, June 27.

ICC has designated June 28 (as per Indian time) as the travel day. Two teams that qualify for T20 World Cup 2024 final will travel to Barbados  on June 28. The final of T20 World Cup 2024 will be played in Kingston, Barbados on June 29.

ICC set Friday, June 28 (as per Indian time) as the reserve day for first semifinal between South Africa and Afghanistan. India and England, playing in the second semifinal, do not have the luxury of a reserve day, as their match starts just 48 hours before T20 World Cup final on Saturday, June 29. It wasn't possible to allocate an extra day or a reserve day for IND vs ENG semifinal due to the tight schedule, with only one day between the semifinal and the final.
