IND vs PAK ICC Champions Trophy 2025: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has reportedly refused to travel to Pakistan for ICC Champions Trophy 2025. According to the scheduled draft, India is set to play all their matches in Lahore as it would ensure safety of the visitors. However, BCCI is advocating for a hybrid model, proposing venues like Sri Lanka and Dubai for their matches in the tournament.
What happens if India withdraws from ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan?
If India decides to withdraw from the upcoming Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, ICC might include another team in its place. Eight teams are set to participate in ICC Champions Trophy, next year.
Based on the ICC rankings, Sri Lanka would likely replace India if the latter opts out of the Champions Trophy. Sri Lanka had initially failed to qualify among the top 8 teams for the tournament, but they would get the opportunity if India refuses to participate.

The Indian cricket team has not traveled to Pakistan since 2008 due to strained geopolitical relations between the two nations. The last bilateral series between India and Pakistan took place in India from December 2012 to January 2013. Since then, India and Pakistan have only faced each other in ICC tournaments and Asia Cup.
A BCCI source was quoted as saying by ANI, "India will not go to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025. We will request the ICC to hold our matches in Dubai or Sri Lanka."
BCCI vice-president Rajeev Shukla also stated earlier in May that India's participation in Champions Trophy 2025 would depend on the approval of the central government. He told ANI, "In the case of the Champions Trophy, we will do whatever the Government of India tells us. We send our team only when the Government of India gives us permission."
