West Indies shocked the cricketing fraternity by registering another win over the Indian team in the 2nd T20I on Sunday. The Indian team under the leadership of Hardik Pandya remained the second-best in the T20I series. There are many issues for the Indian team especially among the batting unit, the way how West Indies played against the Indian spinners was also impressive.

Post the game, West Indies captain Rovman Powell accepted that a deliberate plan was there from his side to counter the spin threat by Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravi Bishnoi in the series so far. It was the pair of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav that appeared in the first game while in the second game, it was wrist spinner Ravi Bishnoi who replaced the left-arm spinner.

"It's a very good position to be in. Since 2016 we haven't won the T20 series. It was deliberate to change the bowlers constantly and give one over spell, especially fast bowlers because it is very hot. When you are batting wrist spin, it is hand as a right-hander. To limit Chahal, Kuldeep, and Bishnoi we need left-handers. To have Pooran and Hetmyer is important to counter that," said Powell.

Chahal was quite lethal among the Indian bowlers against  West Indies, taking 2 wickets for just 19 runs in 3 overs. But then he did not get to bowl his quota of four overs despite being one of the successful bowlers. The Indian team will be locking horns against the West Indies in the third T20I at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday. The Men in Maroon registered victories in the first two matches of the five-game series and will now require just one win to clinch the series.
