Electing to bowl first, West Indies Champions made an excellent start to the proceedings, as the top order of Pakistan Champions was back in the dugout inside the score of 10 runs. What followed later was a brilliant partnership between Kamran Akmal and captain Younis Khan, as the pair managed to put up 79 runs for the 4th wicket, before the former was dismissed by Dwayne Smith.
Pakistan's batting succumbed under pressure as they were restricted to 134/7, but Aamer Yamin and Sohail Tanvir had other plans, as their blistering knocks guided Pakistan Champions to 198/8 at the end of their innings.
Younis Khan's men did not let the momentum go waste, as the Asian side bowled pretty well in the first four overs of the second innings and West Indies Champions were merely 7/0. Some power-hitting from Dwayne Smith, Chris Gayle, Ashley Nurse managed to uplift the chase of West Indies Champions, but Pakistan proved to be too good for them, as they fell 20 runs short.
