India lost to New Zealand by 18 runs in the first semifinals of the ICC World Cup and crashed out of the marquee event on Wednesday.

The 'Men in Blue' who had been in superlative form all through the round robin stages of the tournament to finish atop the points table and secure a semifinal spot had to bite the dust against a Kiwi side in the semis, who were better on the day.

While the die-hard Indian fans and former cricketers were left in a state of disappointment and with India being knocked out, they were positive reactions from former cricketer who had donned the Blue Jersey and appreciated the efforts of the team to make it to the semifinals.

It may be notable that India has lost three major knockouts games in the recently held ICC tournaments and questions are bound to be raised on the temperament of the Indian team when the stakes are high.

Chasing a target of 240, India were bundled out for 211 in 49.3 overs to be shown the exit door in the tournament.

Ravindra Jadeja and MS Dhoni did their best, but once again India were found wanting in a big spot.
