Indian veteran Yuvraj Singh is all set to don the blue Mumbai Indian jersey in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Before he enters the competition with all his guns ablaze, the 37-year-old proved his mettle while representing Air India in a friendly cricket tournament in the Maldives.

Yuvi wowed the cricket fanatics against a Maldives cricket team at the Ekuveni sports grounds in Male. In the India-Maldives Friendship Cricket Series (organised jointly by the Maldives sports ministry, the Indian embassy and the Maldives Cricket Board), the former Indian vice-captain pulled off a terrific reverse sweep that cleared the boundary for a six.

Here’s the video of that audacious shot:

Yuvraj represented the Air India team that locked horns with Maldivian team in a friendly series which also featured the country’s president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih and Vice-president Faisal Naseem

“I am very pleased that cricket was chosen to strengthen the friendship between the two countries,” Yuvraj Singh was quoted as saying by the Maldives media.

Earlier in January, Yuvraj played some marvellous knocks in DY Patil T20 tournament in Mumbai. He slammed 80 runs off 57 balls, studded with 7 fours and 4 sixes, against the Mumbai Customs. His magnificent knock helped Air India putting 169 runs on board. In return, Mumbai Customs chased down the target in the final over of the match with nine wickets in hand.
