The second edition of the UAE T10 League is serving some unbelievable dosages of rapid-fire cricket. On Friday, the Darren Sammy led Northern Warriors set the highest-ever team total in this format. With some fiery knocks form Lendl Simmons, Nicholas Pooran and Andre Russell, the Warrior piled up 183 runs on the board against Punjabi Legends at an unimaginable run-rate of 18.3 runs per over.

The opening pair—Simmons and Pooran—added 107 runs for the first wicket before Simmons was dismissed on 36 off 21 in the 7th over. After the first loss, Russell joined Pooran at the centre stage and their batting turned more ferocious as another 27 runs were added for the 2nd wicket. However, it was the 9th over when Pooran fell prey to Kiwi pacer Mitchell McClenaghan and missed his maiden T10 century by 23 runs but surpassed Mohammed Shahzad’s highest individual score of 74 runs.

The Legends may have managed to get rid of the danger man but the Warriors didn’t bother about the loss as Russell and Rovman Powell combined for a partnership of 53 in 11 balls to finish off the innings. While Powell hit two fours and as many sixes in 5 balls for his 21, Andre Russell crushed 38 off 9 balls and smashed 6 maximums.

A total of 19 sixes and 10 boundaries were smashed by the Warriors to score a mammoth total of 183 runs in 10 overs.
