Rajasthan Royals pulled off a dramatic three-wicket win over Kolkata, thanks to the brilliant batting show by teenager Riyan Parag and an excellent new-ball spell of 3-1-10-2 by Varun Aaron. RR’s hopes of a playoffs berth are still alive.

For Rajasthan, Varun Aaron was the pick of the bowlers as he clean-bowled Chris Lynn (0) and Shubman Gill (14) cheaply, giving his side a desirable start and causing a significant damage to KKR.

Aaron, who was only playing his second game this season, took full advantage of the good and green cricketing surface of Eden Gardens and delivered a beauty to clean up Gill with a knuckle-ball that sharply cut back in.

Varun Aaron credited his county stint for his improvement as a bowler.

"I've always bowled inswing but it's coming off a lot better after my county stint," said Aaron,
