Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and opted to field in their IPL match against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday. KKR did not get the best of start they would have wanted. KKR batsmen struggled in the first half of the game to hit some big shots as their wickets continued to tumble at Delhi's Kotla.

At the end of 7th over, KKR had 44 runs on board at the loss of four wickets, and the crowd at Delhi was filled with joy as the home team dominated the visitors.

A bizarre run-out took place in the 10th over to bring more joy for the Delhi team and its fan. KKR’s Shubman Gill played a square drive at Lamichhane’s delivery through the point and was expecting a four over the rope. However, thanks to Rabada’s brilliant fielding effort and presence of mind, he dived full stretch to grab the ball and pass it on to Patel who then made a brilliant throw towards the bowler's end to surprise Gill, who was going for the third run.

Dre Russ 28-ball 62 along with Karthik's fifty helped Kolkata to score a massive 185 for 8 against Delhi at Kotla. The home side dominated the large part of the innings after electing to bowl but Russell and Karthik seized the momentum with their fearless batting.

Russell was hit on his left shoulder by a beamer from pacer Harshal Patel in the 14th over and was on the ground. However, after receiving treatment, he launched an assault on the home bowlers, hitting four fours and six sixes.

KKR collected 84 runs in the last six overs to have a challenging total on the board. Nepalese spinner Sandeep Lamichhane (1/29) was the most economical bowler for the home side.
