No one on this earth ever had this idea that a rain-affected affair between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Rajasthan Royals (RR) will serve the best dosage of entertainment. After waiting for exactly 3 and a half hours, the spectators were enlightened by the second hat-trick of the season, claimed by RR spinner Shreyas Gopal.

As the match was reduced to 5 overs aside, Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers came to open the RCB innings and slammed Varun Aaron for 23 runs in the first six balls. Jolted by the fireworks, Rajasthan skipper Steve Smith then deployed Gopal on the attack and his decision just changed the course of the game.

The Karnataka spinner began the amusement with removing Kohli (25 off 7) on the 4th ball of the 2nd over and then hunted de Villiers (10 off 4) and Marcus Stoinis (0) down to reach the feat.

Here’s how it happened:

Once the top three returned to the dressing room, RCB lost their momentum as they could only score 62 in 6 overs.

Earlier, the Royals won the toss and elected to bowl first. They made just one change; Mahipal Lomror, who played the first game of the season, replaced Ashton Turner.

On the other hand, RCB made a couple of changes to the side; Kulwant Khejroliya came in for Shivam Dube to play his first game this season. Also, Pawan Negi came in for Washington Sundar.
