New Delhi: For a part-time wicketkeeper to pull off three stumpings in an innings is no ordinary feat. Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper Robin Uthappa did the expectional by sending three batsmen back to the pavillion with his antics behind the stumps.
The 31-year-old packed Ajinkya Rahane, MS Dhoni and Manoj Tiwary to restrict Pune to 182 runs and saved atleast 10-15 runs for his side.
Robin Uthappa became the second wicketkeeper to pull off three stumpings in an innings with MS Dhoni being first one to achieve this feat. Ironically, MS Dhoni was one of the victim of Uthappa’s lighting quick stumping on Wednesday.
Kolkata Knight Riders registered thumping victory against Rising Pune Supergiant by 7 wickets. The 2-time IPL champions jumped to the top spot with 12 points in 8 games.
KKR halted Pune’s winning run, who had earlier won 3 successive games. The Pune based franchise find themselves on fourth position with 8 points from 8 games.
